Rob's visit to Schlumberger

There are so many rich and wonderful memories of Rob which keep his memory alive and well. Allow me to make just one addition to that memory bank with a personal favorite: when Nan and Rob came to visit me at Princeton Technology Center in Cambridge (Schlumberger), must have been around 2006-2007. One of the Principal Engineers showed them both around the facility and explained how we did what we did. Rob came to life with the most intriguing questions. He was excited and giggly like a child in a sweetie shop. He was so interested in how the facility was managed and took a particular shine to the 100-foot deep well dug into the campus grounds to do testing in. It baffled me how quickly he was able to grasp technical subjects which I had personally grappled with trying to understand for several years, and he delighted in how technology had advanced and progressed since 'his day'. That is a fond memory for me and I'm proud to confirm that his keen interest in understanding the world around him and his love for engineering and technology is undeniably present in the genes he passed down, I assure you!
With love to everyone, and my condolences. Rob will always live on in our hearts and our minds. XXX Emily
