Clare 16th August 2021

They say that youth is wasted on the young, but for my Grandfather, Rob, this was not the case. He was the Grandchild and Son of the industrial revolution and he pretty much embraced all of it: Engines, oil, hard work, minds working together, visions of a future. He ran free with steam engines for his entire youth and when he came of age he used the knowledge that he had gleaned from his observations and intrigue to push the boundaries of science and human interconnectivity. He harnessed imagination and science to change the future. As a Grandfather, Rob was a magician- he created a world of mysterious machines in the workshop, welded small trinkets; broaches to wear and dollhouse sized furniture that was fit for a tiny king to use. He taught us that care, attention and time matters, but mostly that when you have an imagination and knowledge that there is nothing you cannot do. For this I will be forever grateful. Until we meet again Rob Clare-a-belle
